The Third Russian International Conference “Cryo-electron microscopy 2021: achievements and prospects” is organized by Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU) and Research Center of Biotechnology RAS on May 30 – June 2, 2021. The conference will be held in a combined online/offline format.
Conference venue is Research Center of Biotechnology RAS (Moscow, Prospekt 60 let Oktjabrja, 7, building 2).
The first day of the conference will be held in an online format only. But the Welcome party at the MSU botanic garden will be in person and will start at 19:00 on May 30th.
All the time indicated in the program is Moscow time (GMT +3).
Mission Statement: the RICCEM conference aims to inform the Russian and international scientific communities of the recent technological progress attained in structural biology and of the latest achievements in the field of cryo-electron microscopy. This event is the most significant communication platform in Russia since 2017 between internationally recognized experts and young researchers in the rapidly developing region of cryo-electron microscopy. Leading researchers from Russia, Europe and the USA will take part in this conference. Previous RICCEM conferences have already made a significant impact on the advancement of cryo-EM in Russia and the implementation of many modern structural methods at MSU. Our aim is to establish a fruitful two-sided partnerships between researchers in Russia and abroad.
Recent advances in deciphering the atomic structure of macromolecules using cryo-electron microscopy and various aspects of sample preparation will be discussed.
Structure of membrane proteins;
Structure and functions of the transcription and translation apparatus of the cell;
Structure of viruses and chaperonins;
Molecular organization of cells and organelles, studied by subtomogram averaging;
Advances in EM technology and processing;
Cryo-EM research, related to medicine.
